Bio of Shawna Kerr-Smith
Shawna Kerr‑Smith is a financial educator and Regional Leader with Primerica, dedicated to helping families build confidence, clarity, and long‑term stability in their financial lives. Since 2011, she has worked with individuals across Alberta and Western Canada to demystify how money works, offering practical guidance on budgeting, debt reduction, saving, and planning for the future.
Shawna’s passion for financial literacy is rooted in her own lived experience. Growing up in a hardworking family that struggled to make ends meet, she saw firsthand how a lack of financial knowledge can create stress and limit opportunities. That early insight fuels her mission today: empowering families—especially mothers—to gain control of their finances and create a more secure future for themselves and their children.
Through her coaching practice and leadership within Primerica, Shawna provides accessible, judgment‑free support to families of all backgrounds. She is known for her warm, relatable teaching style and her ability to break down complex financial concepts into simple, actionable steps. Her work spans one‑on‑one coaching, group workshops, and community education initiatives, all focused on helping families make informed decisions and achieve financial independence.
Shawna lives in Alberta with her family and is deeply involved in her local community, including volunteer leadership roles in youth sports and family‑focused organizations. She brings both professional expertise and genuine heart to every conversation about money.
